Event Details


The Spring 2005 Meeting of the Indiana Section of the MAA will be on April 1-2, 2005 at Indiana University - Purdue University Fort Wayne, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I would like to remind members that the deadline for abstracts of contributed papers is March 14, 2005. Paper submission is on-line at http://www.maa.org/indiana/. 

The invited speaker is Jim Tattersall, who will give an after dinner talk on Friday, April 1, 2005 and a Saturday afternoon talk on Saturday, April 2, 2005.

I am looking for volunteers to run a Student Workshop at this meeting. If you are interested in running a Student Workshop at this meeting please contact Amos Carpenter at acarpent@butler.edu.

There will be a PMET (Preparing Mathematicians to Educate Teachers) mini-course at this meeting. Two hours on Friday, April 1, 2005 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and two hours on Saturday, April 2, 2005 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Preregistration is required (deadline: March 30) . Please let your colleagues in your department know about the mini-course. Also, let your College of Education or Department of Education know about the mini-course. The mini-course will be run by Magnhild lien.

As always, we will be running the "Friendly Competition" on Friday afternoon. Registration is required, and must be done by March 25. You must pay your $5.00 (per team) fee here, however.

Registration Information

Registration for everyone (except students) is $10, if you register before March 25; afterwards, registration is $15.  Students (both undergraduate and graduate) register for free.

You may also order dinner on Friday night and lunch on Saturday below. Costs are $21 for dinner and $12 for lunch.  Orders may be placed before March 25.

You may register multiple people at a time. You will need to indicate, in the following questionaire, who is being registered and the students that are also attending. This will ease the registration process at the meeting.

If you do not want to pay by credit card and instead you wish to pay by check, you can download the registration form here and mail it to the Indiana Section Secretary (address is on the form). This form must be postmarked by March 25 in order to be eligible for the reduced registration rate.

Refund Policy: A registrant, who will be unable to attend the meeting, can receive a refund of all but $5 of the registration fee by making a request to the Secretary before the start of the meeting. If a registrant informs the Secretary that a prepaid meal ticket will not be used, then that ticket will be made available for purchase during the meeting. If the ticket is purchased, that money will be refunded.
